Capitol City Robotics Announces the Ella Harris Leadership Scholarship to Honor Student Leadership and Innovation
Washington, D.C. — Capitol City Robotics is proud to announce the creation of the Ella Harris Leadership Scholarship, an annual award recognizing a student leader who demonstrates outstanding leadership, dedication, and innovation in advancing the mission of Capitol City Robotics.
The scholarship honors Ella Harris, now a freshman at Lafayette College, whose remarkable journey through Capitol City Robotics exemplifies the power of youth leadership. Ella was one of the first students to participate in CCR’s Leadership Pathways Program and played an instrumental role in shaping its structure and success. Rising to the positions of Program Manager and Chief of Staff, she helped coordinate robotics initiatives, supported mentors and teams, and contributed to guiding the organization’s strategic direction.
“Ella was one of the first students to go through our Leadership Pathways program, and she helped us shape it into what it is today. She saw where CCR could go and wasn’t afraid to speak up and push us there. Some of our best ideas came from her suggestions, and this scholarship will make sure that kind of student voice continues shaping our future,” said Ryan Daza, Executive Founder of Capitol City Robotics.
The Ella Harris Leadership Scholarship will be awarded annually to a Capitol City Robotics student who embodies the values of resilience, collaboration, and vision — qualities that Ella brought to every role she held. In addition to financial support, the scholarship will spotlight the recipient as a role model within the CCR community, continuing Ella’s legacy of inspiring the next generation of innovators and changemakers.
Capitol City Robotics invites community members, sponsors, and partners to join in supporting the scholarship fund, which helps ensure that every student leader has the resources and encouragement they need to reach their full potential.
