First Lego League Challenge

In the 2025–26 UNEARTHED season, students step into the role of modern-day explorers, using STEM and teamwork to uncover the past and shape the future. Inspired by archaeology, the challenge asks teams to investigate artifacts, understand their stories, and apply that knowledge to develop innovative solutions for real-world problems.

Teams take on four key components of the program: embracing the FIRST Core Values, creating an Innovation Project that tackles a challenge related to archaeology, designing and programming a LEGO® robot to complete missions in the Robot Game, and presenting their process to judges with creativity and clarity. Along the way, they strengthen skills in problem-solving, engineering design, coding, research, and communication.

Competitions at the local, regional, and global levels give students the chance to showcase their ideas, strategies, and teamwork. This season’s UNEARTHED theme combines the excitement of discovery with the challenge of innovation. Watch the video below to see the 2025–26 mission unveiled.
