The Sphero Global Challenge gives advanced learners a thrilling, data-driven robotics experience using BOLT+ robots. Designed for upper-elementary and middle school students, it tasks teams with programming their robots to react to real-time data. Using loops, variables, conditionals, and functions, they engineer shelters, gather supplies, and send rescue signals in a dynamic, survival-themed mission.
Collaboration is key, as students work in teams to design solutions, share ideas, and refine their code to meet complex challenges. Teams document their process, test and improve their designs, and present their solutions to judges. The challenge can be tackled virtually or in person, with top-performing teams earning invitations to the Sphero World Championship, held each spring.
